The
Heidelberg Orchestras started a new
performance ensemble in 2007 called the
Heidelberg Wind Ensemble. Stephen Carpenter is the Conductor of this group. The full ensemble is intended to have approximately 35-40
players only, with essentially one player per
part, and all positions are auditioned.
This
wind ensemble is modelled on the Eastman
Wind Ensemble concept, and requires high
standard performers on all instruments. The minimum age for audition is 18 and, as
such, is intended to be an ensemble for the
mature musician. There is no age limit for
members of the ensemble.
The ensemble is designed to appeal to the
skilled amateur/professional musician who wants
to perform in a wind ensemble dealing with
the serious and challenging wind ensemble repertoire.
All members of the ensemble are required to become
members of the Heidelberg Orchestras and pay an annual
membership fee.

The group will be permorming in concert with the Monash Symphony Winds and the Monash Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday May 24th at 8.00pm .
It will also be providing a complimentary
pre-concert performance at the HSO Sept. 13th concert
